Many of you will be aware that last month the NHS ordered all GP surgeries and hospitals across the country to reduce their non-urgent blood tests significantly.
We are delighted to report that the supply constraints are now looking better and we have been informed that blood testing in primary care can resume as normal. If in the last four weeks you were asked to defer your blood test please book in via reception or online.
As the supply chain is not yet completely back to normal there may be some constraints with hospital blood tests and in other circumstances. We will endeavour to keep you informed wherever possible.
The lab at University Hospital Southampton remains under significant strain due to staff shortages. Some test results are now taking longer to come back and others such as fungal nail tests are suspended altogether. Your GP will advise if this affects you and will plan your care accordingly.
We would like to thank all our patients who have been so supportive and understanding during this time.
We will keep this page updated with further information as we have it.
