Following consultation with patients and the wider community we are delighted to announce that the merger application for West End Surgery to join Living Well has been approved by our local Health Board.

If you are a patient currently registered with WES your care records will be transferred over to Living Well on Monday 16th January, at which point you can access all services available to Living Well patients.

WES patients can still use their existing surgery telephone number, which will redirect automatically to Living Well’s call handling team (based upstairs at St Luke’s Surgery in Hedge End).

Similarly, eConsults will also come through to our team from the 16th and the WES website will redirect to Living Well too.

There will be minimal disruption for Living Well patients. There are no changes to the way you access our services. Whilst our teams are merging clinical systems eConsult will need to be switched off from 12noon on Friday 13th January and will be switched back on again at 8am on 16th January. Our telephone lines and surgeries will be open as normal.

For WES patients NHS IT will be getting everything ready from Friday 13th January. On that day the surgery will be open for same day urgent care only and WES staff will not have access to patient records on that afternoon. eConsult will be unavailable for WES patients all day on Friday 13th January and through the weekend but will re-open again on Monday 16th at 8am, accessible via the Living Well website.

WES patients who access their prescriptions and/or medical records online via the NHS App may notice a disruption in service. We will automatically check post-merger online access is operational for every WES patient, please bear with us whilst we do this. If you experience persistent access issues please contact us via eConsult.

As ever we would like to thank our patients for their ongoing support as we build a stronger General Practice for our community, and we look forward to continuing to serve you in 2023.
