After graduating from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Medical School and whilst completing my registration years I became disheartened with the NHS and took five years out of medical training to do something completely different. It turned out that running a charity in London prepared me well for the trials and tribulations of partnership in busy general practice. During that time I learnt the importance of serving your beneficiaries well, and making the most of the resources available to make the biggest impact.

As Clinical Director for the partnership one of the things I enjoy the most is working with our teams to streamline ways of working that improve our patients’ health, wellbeing and satisfaction. And as a GP trainer my hope is we can inspire the next generation of clinicians not to be disheartened but to rise to the challenge of delivering modern general practice.
